Recording Stats
The court screen lets you record stats in real-time. There are two options for recording stats
- Full Stats lets you record all stats for both teams, including shot charts.
- Speed Recording lets you record stats for only one team and does not collect shot chart information. This method is easier but limits the stats you can collect.
Recording full stats for both teams is done using the court screen described below. A description of Speed Recording is described later.
An overview of the court screen follows.
Substituting Players:
Double-tap on a player number to substitute that player onto or off of the court (See
overview for details). Players on the courts have a ball under their number.
Game Stats automatically pairs player substitutions and won't record a substitution until you have specified both the player who exits and who enters the game.
If you don't have time to completely record a substitution, you can continue recording stats with
more or less than 5 players on the court. You can assign stats to a player even if they are not in the game. Once you have time, you can complete the substitutions and the software will
record the substitution.
Court Sides:
Game Stats shows only the offensive side of the court. The court side will automatically change upon a change of possession.
You can also manually change court sides using the arrow on the court.
Recording Shots and Rebounds:
Record shots by tapping on the court where the shot occurred and then selecting the player who shot, OR by selecting the player and then tapping on the court where the shot occurred.
Normally every shot attempt is followed by a shot made or rebound, so StatsNOW provides some short cuts for those stats.
Shot recording is described below.
Recording Other Stats:
Stats, other than shot attempts/rebounds, are recorded by tapping twice on the corresponding dimmed stat name on the court, then selecting the corresponding player.
Stat recording is described below.
Speed Stats:
Enable Speed Recording by selecting Speed Recording from the setup screen. Speed Recording uses many of the concepts described above, except you do not locate shot position on the court.
